About

Based in East Haddam, The Bodega Band has been writing and performing music together since a chance meeting at Susan’s Fine Salon & Gathering in 2009. Their music is an eclectic mix of original indie rock together with groove, fusion, jazz, and rock covers.

Kerrey Lynn Tarlton

The Bodega Band is fronted by vocalist Kerrey Lynn. A multi-talented musician, Kerrey also provides flute and piano to band’s audio palette. Her vocals are instrumental to the Bodega Band’s signature sound. She was born and raised in Connecticut and has focused on music her whole life.

Matt White

On lead and rhythm guitar is Matt. As a connoisseur of guitars and vintage amplifiers, his melodies are colorful and rich. He is a Connecticut local and has pursued all styles of music from rock to funk, and jazz.

Outside of music, Matt loves the outdoors and camping. He also enjoys woodworking as another creative outlet.

Warren Tarlton

Also on lead and rhythm guitar is Warren. He is a wizard of music theory, able to navigate key changes and chord progressions on the fly quicker than your GPS re-calculates the route when you take a wrong turn. A native of Ohio, he’s played guitar most of his life and is well-versed in all styles from folk to blues, jazz to pop, and everything in between.

In addition to being a talented musician, Warren also has a gift for teaching. He has been an influential part of many of his student’s musical journey. When he doesn’t have a guitar around his neck, Warren is also an avid video gamer and has been known to school the unsuspecting in basketball.

Sean plays the bass.

Jeff Samperisi

Jeff is the beat of the Bodega Band. His approach to drumming is rooted in jazz, which he studied in school. Dynamics are his forte, and he looks to vary his style from minimalist to complex polyrhythms. While he’s most at home behind the kit, he also indulges in electronic music. His experiments in synthesis, sampling, and MIDI sequencing keep him exploring the nuances that give a beat its groove.
When he’s not playing music, he can often be found restoring vintage arcades, programming 8-bit assembly for fun, or honing his craft as a mixologist. He eats his fruit by the foot and likes his martinis straight up – shaken and stirred!
